What I’m about to tell you is so embarrassing as I’ve been telling everyone who crosses my path lately how great it is to be back into running. After my big preach about it the other day something happened. I injured myself.
I was 99 percent certain I had a shin splint (that’s what happens when you trust medical websites) – my first sporting injury ever apart from the broken ankle I got when I was 19 as I was flirting while roller blading . It had been coming on for a couple of weeks and I thought I could fix it with heaps of stretching and new running shoes, but after it hurting too much to ignore I went to the doctor this morning.
Turns out it was a sprain and I should be back to normal within 4-6 weeks. In the meantime I can still run/go to BMF, just not as often and not as hardcore. I just have to swap those other sessions for something less taxing…
So bye-bye lots of running and BMF until this is fixed (and to the 10km run I was supposed to do next Sunday). Hello to swimming, a sport I have neglected for way too long. Bring on the toned arms.
